First, decide if you want to play on the grand staff or single staff. Tap the leftmost of the bottom center buttons to switch between single and grand staff.

For the grand staff, each player identifies intervals on his/her own staff; whereas, players race to identify the same interval on the single staff. The single staff also includes audio, so you can hear the intervals.

Second, adjust the settings to play with exactly the intervals you want, from unison to octave.

Before starting a game, tap the interval degree buttons to see example intervals displayed on the staff.

Tap the arrow in the upper right to start the game. For the grand staff game, the player on the left taps the interval degree button to match the lower staff; the player on the right taps the interval degree button to match the upper staff. Correct answers move you up the rope, while incorrect answers move you down. The first one to the top wins.

For the single staff game, it is a race to see which player can select the correct interval degree first. An alternate way to play is taking turns - the first player selects an interval degree. If correct, they move up the rope, and the other player takes the first turn selecting the interval degree for the next interval displayed. If a player makes an incorrect guess, the other player makes a selection, and they continue taking turns until the correct selection is made.
